Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of MetaRoK (meta-rok.com). By using the site you agree to them. They are written in plain language; where they describe how a feature behaves, they describe what the site actually does today. How your data is handled is covered separately in the privacy policy.

About the site

MetaRoK is a fan-made companion site for Rise of Kingdoms, run by Cortex. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Lilith Games. Rise of Kingdoms, its commanders, artwork, item names and other game assets are the property of Lilith Games and appear here for identification and commentary about the game. Everything else on the site (the rankings, guides, tools and code) belongs to MetaRoK or its contributors.

Accounts and profiles

• You log in with a Discord or Google account. You are responsible for that account and for what is done on MetaRoK while logged in with it. Discord's own rules require you to be at least 13 years old; the same applies here.
• One login can hold up to 20 profiles. Every profile you create must be for a game account that is yours. A Governor ID can be held by only one profile on the site; enter only your own.
• If another profile is holding your Governor ID, use the report dialog rather than a second account. Reports need an in-game screenshot, are reviewed by admins, and a false report is itself a breach of these terms.
• Profile data (power, kill points, commanders and so on) is self-reported. Nothing on the site verifies it, and you should not present other people's data as your own.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you post and upload: profile details, images, forum posts, comments, notes and saved tier lists. By posting it you give MetaRoK permission to store it, display it to the people your visibility settings allow, resize and cache it, and include it in the pages and exports the site generates (for example a kingdom showcase image). You can withdraw that permission by deleting the content or your profile, subject to the retention notes in the privacy policy.

Only upload images you have the right to use. Forum posts and comments are public, so do not post anything there you would not want anyone, including search engines, to see.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to:

• harass, threaten or defame anyone, or post hateful, sexual or otherwise abusive material;
• impersonate another player, kingdom, alliance, content creator or the site itself;
• post spam, advertising, scams, or anything illegal where you or the site operate;
• claim a Governor ID, kingdom or leadership role that is not yours;
• try to see profiles, kingdom data, activity times or notes that your visibility level does not grant you, or to interfere with anyone else's account;
• scrape, flood or automate requests against the site or its API. The API is rate limited and exists for the site's own pages, not as a public data feed;
• upload files that are not images, or attempt to bypass the upload checks.

Kingdom tools and leadership

Kingdom leadership on MetaRoK is determined by a roster of kings and officers published by codexhelper.com and keyed on Discord IDs, plus manual promotions made by verified kings. MetaRoK does not control that roster and cannot guarantee it is current. If a leader is missing or wrong, the fix lies with the roster (or a manual promotion from a verified king), not with the site.

Verified leaders can approve and remove members, send invitations, assign rally and garrison captains, leave notes on members' equipment and commander sets, suggest march pairings, upload kingdom images and set who can see the kingdom's aggregated activity. Leaders should use those tools for running their kingdom. Using them to harass members, or notes to post abuse, is a breach of these terms.

Joining a kingdom on the site is a directory fact, not an in-game action; being approved here grants nothing in the game, and kingdom membership never grants leadership rights on the site.

Moderation

Site admins can remove or pin forum posts, delete comments, ban a profile from writing on the forum (for a set period or permanently), release or reassign a disputed Governor ID, manage forum categories, and view any profile or kingdom in order to deal with reports. Profile owners can delete comments on their own profile and block commenters. Kingdom leaders can remove members from their kingdom's list.

Moderation decisions are made in good faith and as promptly as a one-person site allows. If you think a decision was wrong, raise it on the Discord server.

Game data and accuracy

Tier lists, march compositions, talent builds and commander rankings are opinions about the current meta, and they change with every patch. Use them as guidance, not as a guarantee of in-game results.

Availability and liability

The site is provided as is, free of charge, with no promise that it will be available, error-free or kept online. It may change or be taken down at any time. To the extent the law allows, MetaRoK is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site, from reliance on its content, or from anything posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Donations

Donations through Ko-fi are voluntary gifts that help cover hosting and time spent on the site. They buy no feature, rank or privilege, and they are handled under Ko-fi's own terms, including refunds.

Ending your use

You can stop using the site at any time, log out, delete your content, delete secondary profiles from the profile switcher, and ask for your primary profile to be deleted (see the privacy policy). MetaRoK can restrict or remove an account that breaks these terms, remove content that breaks them, and refuse service where necessary to protect other users or the site.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the site changes. The date at the top is updated when they do, and notable changes are listed in the changelog. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
